A free vision document proposing one self-reliant city model for a happy, healthy, prosperous, pollution-free India — and a cooler planet.

Total Solution is a self-published vision document written by Swati Garg, inspired by Sant Shri K.C. Ravi Ji. It lays out one straightforward idea: design cities so that farming, industry, homes and every essential service sit within a few kilometres of each other — so that 140 crore Indians can live well without stripping the country of the forests, farmland and clean air they depend on.
It is not a government plan or a policy paper — it is one citizen's working proposal, complete with maps, area calculations and a FAQ, offered for anyone to read, question and carry forward.
The document walks through what's breaking today, one part at a time — then spends its longest chapter on the fix.
Why treating nature as disposable — melting poles, rising seas, fiercer storms — is a bill our own grandchildren will be handed.
Roads that carry more grief than distance — over a lakh lives lost a year — and a village life traded for a commute.
When production turns into marketing turns into distance from home — and automation quietly empties the shop floor.
Villages hollow out, cities overflow — a farmer's son ends up sweeping floors 25 km from the milk and ghee he grew up on.
The Total Solution itself — a self-reliant city ringed by farmland and forest, built at walking-distance scale.
The core layout: farmland and city alternate in a checkerboard, with untouched forest at the centre — every essential within five kilometres.
One 15 × 15 km block — four cities, five farming belts, one forest core.
Cross-section of one city — everyone within reach of the shared pond, school and hospital at its heart.
Because school, hospital, market and farm all sit inside a five-kilometre radius, there's barely any need for a personal vehicle — and the traffic, noise and pollution that come with one disappear along with it.
Rough, back-of-the-envelope math from the document's Annexures — not government data, offered as a starting point for discussion.
